About the NYT Strands Game
Strands is a New York Times game where you search for words in a puzzle. The puzzle board is 6 letters wide and 8 letters tall, consisting of 6-8 words you need to find. It is very similar to a typical word search game, however, in Strands, you can connect the letters up, down, left, right, and diagonally throughout the entire word.
This makes it much more difficult to find words since they won't be all in one straight line. To make it a bit easier, the puzzle will always have a certain theme for finding the correct words. If you find 3 non-theme words, you'll unlock a hint which will show the letters used for a correct word.
For every puzzle, there is a "spangram" which spans the entire length of the board. Finding this word is especially useful because it describes the theme of the puzzle. These, along with some other theme words, can be very tricky to spot. Above, we show all of the Strands answers and their placements on the board.
If you'd like to play Strands, you can play it online on the website or download the NYT Games app on the App Store or Google Play. To see answers for more New York Times Games, you can go to our Letter Boxed Solver, Wordle Cheat, or Connections Answers.
